Parents and the Home

Families generally want to be involved with their kids’ education and one of the most important ways to do so is to read to – and with – them as often as possible. Having children witness adults as voracious readers makes a great impact, as well.

In this section, not only will you find resources to foster a child’s study skills, motivate them to learn, and encourage them to read, but you’ll find the popular 52 Ways to Help Your Child Learn publication, and Parent Power, the grade level-specific resource guide that offers tips to help in a multitude of subject areas. You’ll also find the brochure Education Begins at Home: Seven Tips to Help Your Child Learn in a variety of languages.

For other practical information that parents can put to use, check out the resources provided by NEA: NEA/PTA Parents Guide. You can download the brochures or call to place an order.
