Event Description

The premier training of its kind, CTA’s Summer Institute takes place on the campus of UCLA. Offering sessions in a variety of areas that assist chapter leaders in the day-to-day representation of their members, this five-day event will feature hands-on activities to hone the skills needed to meet the challenges of the coming year.

This year the Summer Institute offers eleven full-week trainings with instruction that spans Sunday to Thursday. Participants register for the training of their choice. Some sessions fill up quickly, so it is important to register as early as possible. You may be waitlisted if your first choice is not available at registration. You will be given the opportunity to register for other available trainings while you are waitlisted for your first choice.

Two weeks before Summer Institute, CTA must prepay UCLA for all rooms reserved and UCLA will not refund this money. If you cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances, it would be best to have your local chapter send someone in your place so as not to miss out on their investment in this training.

Health & Safety Policies

The health and safety of attendees, speakers, exhibitors and staff are our highest priority. In partnership with hotels, CTA will adhere to all official government and local authority guidance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations.

As of June 16, 2022, UCLA is requiring all individuals to wear a face mask in indoor spaces on the UCLA campus (except when actively eating or drinking).

All attendees, staff, presenters, exhibitors, and invited guests will be required to show proof of vaccination OR a written negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day for an antigen test or 2 days for a PCR test upon check-in at the CTA Registration Desk.

Proof of vaccination can be in the form of your physical Vaccination Record Card (CRC) from the CDC, an image of the card, if you have a picture on your phone, or your digital COVID -19 vaccine record issued by the State of California.
