Our unions and our public schools are reimagining education and reenergizing our labor movement. Our charge remains: building strong site organizing structures and leading effective winning campaigns to fight for the support our students deserve.

We invite you to join us for the Region I Leadership Conference, October 16-18, 2026.  Sessions are centered on “The Future Can’t Wait: A Call to Action for Public Education.”

Presidents’ Meeting with CTA Executive Officers

Local Presidents are invited to meet with the CTA Executive Officers before the conference starts.  This is your meeting, a time to share your issues and concerns.

Treasurers’ Workshop

Region I local chapter treasurers, join us on October 16, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency SFO for our annual Region I Treasurers’ Workshop prior to the Region I Leadership Conference.  Topics to be covered include:

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Business Practices and Policies
  • Budgeting and Treasurer’s Report
  • PERB, IRS, and Other Regulatory Requirements

Tentative Schedule:

  • 8:30 – 10 a.m. : Continental Breakfast
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. :  Chapter Treasurers’ Workshop
  • 12 – 1 p.m. : Lunch
  • 1:30 – 3 p.m. : PAC Treasurers’ Workshop

Childcare

Childcare for the 2026 Region 1 Leadership Conference is available to CTA Members and Staff attendees who are the primary caregivers of the child(ren) attending. Click here for more childcare information.

You must Register Your Child to reserve a spot at Camp CTA. Children attending Camp CTA must adhere to the conference Health & Safety Policies.

Local Amenities

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport offers many on-site amenities including three dining outlets, room service, outdoor heated pool, 24-hour fitness center, and complimentary shuttle to SFO Airport.

If you would like to explore the local area, Downtown Burlingame is only 1.8 miles away and offers many unique dining and shopping options. Burlingame is also well connected to San Francisco (a quick 30 minute BART ride away),  and other Peninsula cities in Silicon Valley to the south are accessible via trains, buses, and shared ride services.

Credits

Professional Growth Hours: By attending this conference, you will earn 15 hours of Professional Development which can be used to claim (1) University Credit through our partner, CSU Chico. Conference attendance from start to finish is required to receive the Professional Growth Hours. After the conference, attendees will be emailed a certificate of Professional Growth Hours.
