The November 2026 ballot will include Prop. 3, The California Children’s Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2026. Passing Prop. 3 is crucial to protect existing funding — almost $15 billion annually — for our schools and students.

Prop. 3 keeps the wealthiest Californians paying their share so our public schools get the funding our students deserve. Without it, our public schools face a devastating 15% budget cut; 1 in 6 educators would face layoffs.

A year and a half ago, our union kicked off a campaign to permanently extend Prop. 55 — an existing tax on couples earning over $700K annually that will expire in 2030. In the past months, CTA members gathered more than 180,000 signatures to qualify the measure for the November ballot. That measure is now Prop. 3.

Our union is already working hard on Get Out the Vote efforts to ensure it becomes law.
