The campaign for the permanent extension of Proposition 55 — the California Children’s Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2026 — is moving ahead as planned.

Extending Prop. 55 is vital for preserving the resources we have and achieving more in the future. Without an extension, our schools will lose funding by 2030. Our union filed the ballot initiative in late August for the 2026 general election. Watch for petitions circulating in mid-November to gather the necessary signatures to qualify for the ballot and be sure to add your signature to the list. Our students and communities are depending on us to secure this continued vital funding. Stay tuned for further updates as our fight for school funding and fully funding Prop. 98 continues this fall.
