With a little more than 24 hours left in Election 2022, it’s the final chance to cast your vote for our students and schools.

Educators across the state spent the past weekend walking neighborhoods and talking with voters about local and state leaders who support and value public schools, and initiatives that could impact our students and communities – working for every vote to ensure victory on Election Day.

All ballots must be submitted by 8 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 8. Return vote-by-mail ballots by mail, or in-person to a secure ballot drop box, a voting location or county elections office. All vote-by-mail ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Nov. 8 and received by Nov. 15.

Remember that in-person voting locations offer same day voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines and language assistance to those who need it.

Haven’t voted yet? You’re not alone – as of Sunday only 22.1 percent of registered Californians (4.7 million) had submitted their ballot. Luckily, there’s still time to exercise your voice and your vote to support our schools on Election Day. There are dedicated leaders who need our support, like voting Tony Thurmond for Superintendent of Public Instruction, and dangerous initiatives that must be rejected, like a loud No on Prop. 30. And don’t forget about important local school board races, many of which feature CTA educators looking to serve their home communities as elected officials. See all CTA’s initiative and candidate recommendations here.

Voted already? Let your friends and family know that you’re an education voter – share these graphics to your social media accounts.

Keep an eye on CTA social media, the Secretary of State’s election website and your local registrar of voters for updates on key races as the votes are counted.
