California Educators Celebrate Swearing In of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

BURLINGAME – CTA President E. Toby Boyd issued the following statement today following the swearing in of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court:

“History was made today. At a time when we’ve never been more aware of why our justice system matters and why diverse representation matters, educators cheer the appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to a lifetime appointment on our highest court. Her appointment as the first black female U.S. Supreme Court justice means our justice system will better reflect the diversity, voices and views of this nation. Her qualifications prepare her for the rigorous, reasoned and thoughtful pursuit of justice that our country needs right now. We commend President Biden for this hopeful and historic appointment.”
