The CTA Human Rights Department includes a Human Rights Cadre Training Program with Cadre Trainers who are CTA members specifically trained to facilitate training sessions and workshops in the following content areas:

  1. Transformative Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
  2. Racial Justice Advocacy
  3. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Leadership Advocacy
  4. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer + (LGBTQ+) Leadership Advocacy
  5. Women’s Leadership Advocacy

This is an application for members interested in becoming a Human Rights Cadre Trainer.  We are looking for applicants who exhibit great adult learning teaching skills, advocate for educators, students and the community, understand CTA’s  mission and focus, and have some training experience and content expertise in racial and social justice issues, cross-cultural settings and are committed to delivering an authentic, inspiring and transformative program for CTA members. Trainers will be asked to work in collaborative groups to co-develop content, provide feedback and recommendations, and other support as needed with other cadre trainers.

Trainer Expectations:

  1. Attend full Cadre Trainer Orientation
  2. Attend monthly Cadre Trainer Support Meetings
  3. Participate in at least one Content Area Writing Team
  4. Conduct Cadre Training at least once a year

A completed application means completion of all parts of the application:

  1. Applicant Information
  2. Short Answer Questions (6 Questions Total)
  3. Signed Application
  4. Letters of Recommendation (2 Total)
  5. Sample Training Session or Workshop
