Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship Program

1. I acknowledge that I am a member of a defined BIPOC group: (African American/Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic).
2. I hereby affirm that I am currently enrolled or intend to enter a program in an accredited institution or higher education to pursue a degree or credential for a teaching-related career in public education for the summer or fall semester of 2026.
3. I understand that any deviation from my proposed program of study may be cause for review by the Scholarship Committee.
4. I acknowledge that scholarship funds must be used for education-related expenses only.
5. For active CTA-AE members, if they are selected as a scholarship recipient, the CTA-AE member must reside in California and maintain membership at the time of disbursement.

1. To ensure my application is completed, I will submit two required recommendation forms to CTA.
2. I understand that my application will not be considered complete until these forms are received by CTA.
3. The recommendation forms must be submitted separate from this online application.
4. I will follow the guidelines to submit recommendation forms at: https://www.cta.org/for-educators/scholarships-awards/martin-luther-king-jr-scholarship-recommendation-form
5.  I agree to follow up with CTA, at scholarships@cta.org, to confirm both recommendation forms were received.

1. The information on this application is true and correct.
2. I give my permission for the information in my scholarship application to be shared with CTA and the Scholarship Committee.
3. I release to the California Teachers Association the right to use my name and other information contained in this application for CTA publications, reports and/or press releases.
4. This online application and all supplemental application materials must be submitted by February 20, 2026, 11:59pm (Pacific Time). Incomplete and late applications will NOT be considered.
