Join us for the CTA Presidents Conference, July 13-16, 2023 in Burlingame. Newly developed interactive sessions designed for new and experienced chapter leaders will provide training to enhance your skills as a local leader and help build systems of success for your chapter.

On the horizon are constant challenges to the labor movement that will impact the work we do as an organization. The Presidents Conference will provide new and returning presidents a foundation to rely upon as we prepare for the future. This conference includes dozens of skill building sessions and provides opportunities to build lasting relationships with other CTA leaders.

The 2023 Presidents Conference is available to CTA Presidents, Vice-Presidents or the local designee.  No cost childcare is available for pre-registered attendees. Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity!

To help encourage attendance at this important training, CTA will reimburse one person per local for their travel costs to attend the conference.

Please join us at CTA Headquarters in Burlingame on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM for a special “Fun in the Sun” reception. The CTA Board of Directors will be providing office tours. Shuttles will be available to and from the Hyatt and HQ.

The health and safety of attendees, exhibitors and staff are our highest priority. In partnership with hotels, CTA will adhere to all official government and local authority guidance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations.

All attendees, staff, presenters, exhibitors, and invited guests are strongly encouraged to wear a mask on-site in conference-designated programming areas. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is not required to attend the event.

Children attending Camp CTA must adhere to the conference Health & Safety Policies.

CTA is offering a no-charge child care program at the 2023 Presidents Conference.  Child care is available to all Presidents Conference attendees who are the primary caregivers of the child(ren) attending Camp CTA for children ages 6 months to 16 years. While you’re attending meetings, your children can enjoy their own Camp, organized by ACCENT on Children’s Arrangements, Inc., a national company specializing in children’s activities. Camp CTA is a complete morning to early evening entertainment program packed with activities. *All children must be preregistered to ensure proper staffing levels. Children participate in age appropriate activities, including arts and crafts projects and active games, in a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. The high ratio of caregiver to child (1:2 for children 6 months-12 months, 1:3 for children 13 months-2 years, 1:5 for children 3-5 years, and 1:8 for children 6-16 years) ensures campers receive lots of personal attention. Program will include lunch and dinner on Friday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, afternoon snacks and juice, entertainment, and craft materials.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport offers many on-site amenities including three dining outlets, room service, outdoor heated pool, 24-hour fitness center, and complimentary shuttle to SFO Airport. If you would like to explore the local area, Downtown Burlingame is only 1.8 miles away and is offers many unique dining and shopping options. Burlingame is also well connected to San Francisco (a quick 30 minute BART ride away),  and other Peninsula cities in Silicon Valley to the south are accessible via trains, buses and shared ride services.

Session documents will be available in the conference app and attendee hub closer to the start of the conference.

Professional Growth Hours: Professional Growth credit will be available at no cost for CTA members. Confirmation of professional growth hours will be emailed shortly after the conference.

University Credit: The University Credit Program is a benefit available to members attending CTA Conferences. Through attending the Presidents Conference, New Presidents will be eligible for up to 2 units and Returning Presidents will be eligible for 1 unit. The CTA Board of Directors will award conference grants for the upcoming Presidents Conference. These incentive grants are available to first time chapters, ESP, CTA BIPOC members and members from chapters with less than 1,000 members. Please click here for more details.
