North Valley Animal Disaster Group took care of Ripley until he was reunited with his family yesterday.

Hundreds of pets and farm animals rescued from the Camp Fire in Butte County are still in area shelters waiting to be united with their families, according to North Valley Animal Disaster Group (NVADG).

The animal rescue group sprang into action when the fire forced residents to flee their homes at a moment’s notice, leaving thousands of beloved pets and farm animals behind. While many have been reunited with their families, more than 100 remain in shelter. Photos and information about these pets are available here.

NVADG is asking for support in caring for these evacuated animals—the feeding and shelter of these pets is costly. Donate here to support NVADG as they seek to reunite every single animal with their families. You can also follow them on Facebook, where they post regular updates on their efforts and the animals.

Please take this opportunity to consider donating to one of a number of funds set up to support educators and students impacted by the Camp Fire and the Woolsey Fire in Ventura County.

While most of the rescued animals are dogs and cats, NVADG also rescued farm animals like this donkey.
