The second season of “Inside California Education” is in full swing — check your local PBS station for days and times. The acclaimed program looks at critical issues in California’s public education and offers entertaining and inspiring stories of students and educators. The 13 half-hour episodes feature more than 40 stories from all over the state.

This season’s subjects range from a special hospital school in Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford to the Bob Hoover Academy in Salinas, where at-risk students turn their lives around by learning to fly a plane. These shows, as well as last year’s, can also be viewed at, where you can search episodes by school or city. You can also suggest a story idea — a great way to recommend educators doing interesting work at your school, in your local or in your district.
