Attendance at the picket lines continues to grow and break records as support for OEA’s historic Common Good proposals has taken root in Oakland. They have gotten stronger every day and the support is felt from across the state.

“Our Common Good goals are largely about ensuring educators, parents, students and other stakeholders have a voice in the decision-making process, said Kampala Taiz-Rancifer, OEA’s Vice President. “We also have proposed the addition of a small number of additional staff to support our most impacted community schools.”

With the bargaining team continuing to make progress at the table, but important issues still needing to be worked out, the Oakland community gathered at Lake Merritt before taking to the streets to march in support of Oakland’s educators. More than 1,000 showed up in solidarity.
