March is also Women’s History Month. “Nevertheless She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women” is the timely theme of the National Women’s History Project 2018 observance of the month.

Honorees include Margaret Dunkle, who played a key role in implementing Title IX, the federal law prohibiting gender discrimination in educational institutions; Cristina Jiménez, a leader in the youth-led immigrant rights movement and instrumental in creating the DACA program; and labor activist Saru Jayaraman, who helps restaurant workers mobilize for better wages and working conditions.
