Many educators have already returned to their classrooms for the new year and the rest aren’t far behind as teachers across California prepare for the school year to begin. With educators nationwide getting classrooms and lesson plans ready for students, NEA has compiled a comprehensive Back to School Guide to help new and veteran educators and education support professionals alike.

Picking up school supplies? Don’t forget to buy Union Made!

From classroom setup and prepping for the first week of school to classroom management and working with parents, these educator-tested tips, tricks, advice and strategies will get you started on the right foot for a new year of learning. There’s also a section on year-long support, including practical classroom advice written for teachers by teachers and the free NEA EDCommunities online forum where educators, parents, education support professionals and community members share ideas and resources to improve student success.

There are additional resources for educators in the early part of their careers, like NEA’s School Me series which is designed specifically with new and early-career educators in mind. Check out blogs, podcasts and tip videos featuring advice from seasoned and accomplished educators (or submit your own and help others).

So even if you’re terrified about remembering all those students’ names or you’re not ready to eat your lunch in three minutes or less, remember that for all your back-to-school needs, your friends at CTA and NEA are here for you.
