Leading the way to improve learning and teaching conditions

Wendy Eccles, a social studies teacher in Jurupa Unified School District, is serving her first three-year term as District K Director on the CTA Board of Directors that ends in June 2026.

Eccles is a 19-year educator and member of NEA-Jurupa, where she served as president for four year. Eccles also served her local association as vice president, treasurer, membership engagement/organizing chair and on the bargaining team.

She has served in a variety of roles at the state level, chairing the CTA/ABC Committee and San Gorgonio Service Center Council for five years, and serving as a delegate to CTA State Council of Education for 11 years and NEA Representative Assembly for 13 years.

Active in political advocacy, Eccles also serves on the San Bernardino County Democratic Central Committee and on the California Democratic Party Executive Board.

She has won a variety of local, regional and state awards and honors for her activism, including Rep of the Year at NEA-Jurupa and the CTA State WHO (We Honor Ours) Award.

Eccles earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her teaching credential from CSU-San Bernardino.

Eccles is an avid football fan and Los Angeles Rams season ticket holder, and also enjoys attending concerts.

She lives in Alta Loma.
