Leading the Way to Improve Learning and Teaching Conditions
Meg E’amato, an elementary and middle school teacher in Corona-Norco Unified School District, was elected in January 2026 to complete an unexpired term of office ending June 25, 2027.
Meg is a 28-year educator and member of the Corona-Norco Teachers Association, where she has served as president, vice president, site representative and on the bargaining team. She has also served as a director and vice-chair for the San Gorgonio Service Center Council.
The first in her family to go to college, Meg chose to become a teacher because she enjoyed helping friends when they struggled in school.
“But why I got into teaching is not as meaningful as why I stayed a teacher – because I realized I am gifted at helping students see the greatness they have inside themselves,” Meg said. “I help them believe they can do anything and I help teach them the skills to be the best they can.”
In Italian, e’amato means “is loved” and Meg is dedicated to making sure everyone she encounters knows that they are loved. She shows her love through her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in public education by being an honest and dedicated advocate for educators and all of their students.
Meg earned her bachelor’s in Liberal Studies from La Sierra University, master’s in U.S. History from Claremont Graduate School and a master’s in Educational Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. She lives in Long Beach with her wife, Stephanie – they have three children: Elora, Hayden and Tanner.
