Burnout is a phrase that many in helping professions are familiar with. Moral injury looks at the emotional strain helpers feel due to the demands of their job from the perspective that “burnout” is a lousy term used to shame helpers, whereas moral injury is a better phrase to normalize the frustration, fatigue, and emotional strain that happens to helpers when they are not receiving more support.
