Event Description

The Community College Association Spring Conference highlights membership. At this conference, we also highlight our “We Honor Ours” (WHO) Awards winners. This is a special program which honors our own local and state union leaders. We also hold our last Council of the academic year at the Spring Conference. Members will also receive Legislative updates pertaining to California Community Colleges. The 2022 Spring Conference will take place in-person, April 29 – May 1, 2022.

In order to maintain social distancing, CCA is allowing all participants to have a single room.  Members will receive full reimbursement for the cost of their hotel room upon completion of the required MES and submission of the hotel bill.

Health & Safety Policies

The health and safety of attendees, speakers, exhibitors and staff are our highest priority. In partnership with hotels, CTA will adhere to all official government and local authority guidance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations.

In accordance with COVID-19 safety requirements, all attendees, staff, presenters, exhibitors, and invited guests will be required to show proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day for an antigen test or 2 days for a PCR test upon check-in at the CTA Registration Desk.

Proof of vaccination can be in the form of your physical Vaccination Record Card (CRC) from the CDC, an image of the card, if you have a picture on your phone, or your digital COVID -19 vaccine record issued by the State of California.

Session documents will be available in the attendee hub app within each session closer to the start of the conference.

Credits

Professional Growth Hours: Professional Growth credit will be available at no cost for CCA/CTA members. Confirmation of professional growth hours will be emailed shortly after the conference.

University Credit: The 2021-2022 University Credit Program is a benefit available to members attending CTA Conferences during the 2021-2022 school year. CCA/CTA Members, through attending in-person or virtual conferences, will be given the opportunity to accumulate the professional growth hours needed to qualify for university credit units with CSU, Chico. As a benefit to members, CTA will cover the cost for up to six university credit units with CSU, Chico, normally $75/credit. The professional growth hours can be accumulated by attending conferences live and/or by watching recordings. By attending this conference in person, members will earn 15 hours of professional growth.

CalSTRS Estimate

We will be offering Spring Conference participants an opportunity to meet with CalSTRS retirement specialists on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 2:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. The individual sessions will be 30 minutes long and will go over the member’s progress report, provide an estimate, and answer any questions the member may have.
Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and space is limited to the first 16 participants who register for one of these sessions. In order to register, please complete the CalSTRS Estimate Request Form and email it to Karen Boll (kboll@cta.org) by April 14, 2022.
