Former President Barack Obama declared Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride month. Pride is an affirmation and unapologetic acceptance of oneself and LGBTQ+ communities. The modern “pride” movement began after the Stonewall riots in 1969.
