Education Support Professionals

For more than 20 years, school paraprofessionals, office workers, custodians and other school employees have been active members of the National Education Association, but had not been eligible to join CTA. In a historic move in June 2006, CTA’s State Council of Education voted to extend membership to Education Support Professionals (ESPs).

• On Lobby Day and CTA ESP Day 2008, Education Support Professionals addressed legislators providing testimony in support of public education and in opposition of the proposed budget cuts.  View the video
