Speak out via online community

The Alliance for a Better California has launched a new online community dedicated to enhancing grassroots efforts to speak out against the bad ideas that Gov. Schwarzenegger has put on the November ballot.

Teachers and other school employees are urged to participate with other Alliance partners in online forums and blogs.

The online presence will allow concerned citizens to stay involved and informed throughout this special election campaign and beyond. Features on the site allow activists to:

Get local — Learn about rallies, protests, precinct walks, speakers training opportunities and other efforts to defeat the governor's agenda in their local areas.

Get informed — Learn about the latest news developments in the campaign, and download the latest information about the initiatives on the November ballot.

Get together — Connect with other activists and share views with blogs, online forums and e-mail updates.

"The governor wants to continue to take California in the wrong direction," says CTA President Barbara E. Kerr, "but our coalition of firefighters, teachers, nurses, police officers, public employees, community advocates, religious leaders and other local organizations are mobilizing online and on the streets to defeat this damaging agenda."
