Applications for all of CTA's scholarship programs are now available for downloading from the CTA website [go to www.cta.org and click on "Resources" in the left-hand panel].
The deadline to apply is Feb. 18.
The CTA Scholarship for Dependent Children offers 25 $2,000 scholarships, including the Ralph J. Flynn Memorial Fund for the highest scoring applicant and the D.A. (Del) Weber Scholarship Fund for a student attending continuation high school. An applicant must be the dependent child of an active, retired-life or deceased member of CTA, and must be a graduating high school senior, college undergraduate or a graduate student.
The CTA Scholarship for Members offers five $2,000 scholarships for active members of CTA, including members working on emergency credentials. The money can be used for credential, degree or graduate programs.
The L. Gordon Bittle Memorial Scholarship for Student CTA Members offers three $2,000 scholarships for active members of Student CTA. Applicants must be undergraduate, credential or graduate students pursuing a career in public education.
In order to receive funds, all scholarship recipients will be required to show proof of registration in an approved credential or degree program in an accredited institution of higher learning.
