…CTA is teaming with Staples to Recycle for Education. For every refurbishable inkjet toner cartridge returned to California Staples stores between July 6 and Oct. 31, Staples is donating $1 to CTA's Schools of Greatest Need Initiative. America discards almost 500 million printer cartridges a year; 80 percent of those can be reused. More information about the campaign will be announced in July. …A recent episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show featured Union City forensics teacher Tommie Lindsey, a member of the New Haven Teachers Association. The subject of the PBS documentary "Accidental Hero: Room 408" that aired nationwide last September, Lindsey was honored by Winfrey with the "Use Your Life" Award and $100,000 for his program. One of his students was also flown out in secret to perform live on the show…
