Curriculum ideas can help customize early childhood education

The Complete Daily Curriculum for Early Childhood is a collection of more than 1,200 activities that can be used to customize teaching to suit children's learning styles and individual learning preferences.

Written by early child care experts Pam Schiller and Pat Phipps, the curriculum for children ages 3-6 focuses on the various ways children are "smart" and offers a complete plan for all eight types of intelligence (linguistic, mathematical, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, naturalistic, intrapersonal and interpersonal).

The themes include: All About Me, Colors All Around, The Shape of Things, Sing a Song of Opposites, Mother Goose on the Loose, Whether the Weather, 'Tis the Season, and more.

It includes suggestions for a morning circle, an end-of-the-day reflection and activities for six learning centers.

The book, published by Gryphon House, costs $29.95. For more information, call (800) 638-0928 or visit the publisher's website [www.gryphonhouse.com/].
