Bill: AB 356
Would align California's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program with federal guidelines by exempting pupils in second grade from the testing requirement; would delete passage of the California High School Exit Examination as a state requirement for high school graduation while allowing a district to require the exam; and would delete the rewards and sanctions provisions in the Public Schools Accountability Act.
