Aligning teaching with learning

In Lessons from the Hawk, author Mark Kennedy builds on the metaphor of a hawk circling a field to describe four fundamental approaches that humans use in learning.

Written for teachers who are looking for better ways to engage their students in learning, the book attempts to match learning styles and perspectives with teaching styles and homework assignments.

Kennedy, a member of the San Bernardino County Teachers Association, teaches alternative education and serves as a high-risk cadre trainer of trainers for CTA Human Rights. He also teaches part-time at Chapman University's Ontario Academic Center.

The book costs $18.95. For more information, call Holistic Education Press at (800) 639-4122 or visit the website http://www.great-ideas.org/.
