Human Rights Awards

Dec. 18 is the deadline for nominations for CTA Human Rights Awards to be presented at the Equity and Human Rights Conference March 1.

 

The awards promote the development of programs for the advancement and protection of human and civil rights within the organization.

 

Member categories include the American Indian/Alaska Native Human Rights Award; the César Chávez "Si Se Puede" Human Rights Award; the CTA Member Human Rights Award; the Lois Tinson Human Rights Award; the Nancy Bailey Leadership in Lesbian and Gay Issues Human Rights Award; the Pacific Asian American Human Rights Award; the Physically/Mentally Challenged Students' Issues Human Rights Award; and the Women's Issues Human Rights Award.

 

There are also categories for Organization Human Rights Awards given to CTA chapters or Service Centers for their work, contributions or programs promoting human rights.

 

Nominations must be submitted on the official form by an active CTA member, chapter, related caucus or Service Center Council.
