Student CTA (first named CSTA) was established in 1937 to acquaint prospective teachers with the responsibilities of the profession. The program was authorized on each of the seven state colleges existing at the time. In 1995, membership was extended to accredited junior and community colleges. Today, SCTA has members on more than 100 college campuses in California.
Past leaders and/or members of Student CTA are being sought in an attempt to reconstruct the group's history and see where members are now and what they've accomplished.
The Student CTA office is interested in hearing what years you were a member, what college/university you attended, whether you held elected office, whether being a member was a valuable experience, and where you are now. To respond, call the Student CTA office at (650) 552-5346 or send e-mail to gwatts@cta.org.
