Building respectful relationships

Steps to Respect is a program designed to decrease bullying and help children build more respectful, caring relationships. Geared toward elementary school children, the program is divided into three levels, with each grade level having its own corresponding curriculum.

Research shows that children who are bullied rarely tell adults about it. Students think that adults can't or won't respond. Steps to Respect is designed to ensure that adults in the school are trained to respond appropriately.

The program was developed by the Committee for Children, an independent non-profit organization devoted to the safety and well-being of children. The program costs $595 to implement schoolwide and $195 for each level.
