Caring and Capable Kids is an activity guide for teaching kindness, tolerance, self-control and responsibility. Created by Linda K. Williams, Dianne Schilling and Susanna Palomares, the curriculum includes developmental units, experience sheets for students to fill out, directions for setting up sharing circles and suggestions for class activities on such topics as handling peer pressure and making ethical decisions.
The materials are designed to help children develop empathy, compassion and assertiveness, and to help them deal effectively with anger. They are also encouraged to serve others and exercise sound judgment when confronted with tough decisions.
