Written for use in an after-school setting, the guide contains 24 activities ranging from "Deciding on Your Purpose" and "Brainstorming a Vision of Your Ideal Community" to "Getting Community Input and Support" and "Doing the Project."
The book is based on the experience of the Holyoke YouthPower Project, a neighborhood improvement program that outlines a model activism driven by youth peer leaders, working under adult guidance. It has won numerous awards.
