CTA President Hails Passage of Prop. 1D

Statement from CTA President Barbara E. Kerr

November 08, 2006

“The passage of Proposition 1D is very important to the future of our students, our schools and the future of California. It will allow local school districts to continue building the schools our communities need to reduce classroom overcrowding and provide our students and teachers the clean, safe facilities they deserve. The state matching funds will help provide the technical and career training that our students need to get good paying jobs so they can compete in the global economy.

“California voters have once again showed that providing quality public schools is a top priority. It’s time now for educators, parents, business leaders and elected officials to work together to keep our schools improving and to make sure all children have the best chance possible to succeed.”
