CTA Executive Resigns From Transition Team
Sacramento – CTA Associate Executive Director John Hein resigned today from Governor-elect Schwarzenegger's transition team. His resignation is effective immediately.
"CTA remains committed to working with Governor-elect Schwarzenegger to implement his promise to make children the number one priority in the state budget," said CTA President Barbara E. Kerr. "However, we want to make it clear that we will not be window dressing for 'business as usual.'"
"One of the most redundant bureaucracies in state government is the office of the Secretary of Education. Eliminating this department would free up money that could be spent on students," said Kerr.
With the approval of CTA leaders, Hein accepted the appointment to the transition team on October 9th. CTA leaders also approved his resignation.
