SACRAMENTO - More than 200 Sacramento teachers will fill the neighborhoods of Land Park and East Sacramento Saturday, knocking on doors and talking to voters about the importance of Tuesday's election for Sacramento City School Board.
Calling for an updated version of the 3R's for Sacramento City schools, the 3,300 classroom teachers, counselors and librarians of the Sacramento City Teachers Association are asking voters to support Roy Grimes, a current classroom teacher; retired school counselor James Cramer; and Lori Santos, a parent and public school advocate.
"Parents who are tired of our schools being run by bureaucrats and politicians must join teachers in supporting Roy Grimes, James Cramer and Lori Santos," said SCTA President Tom Rogers. "These three candidates will work with teachers to improve student achievement, restore respect and responsibility to the classroom and make Sacramento schools safe for all students."
- "We know that responsibility and respect can bring us the results schools need to provide our kids with the quality education they deserve," continued Rogers.
