Female Teacher:  When families make homework a priority, kids win every time.

Male Teacher:
Teachers and families working together really help kids succeed at school.

Announcer: Here’s David Sanchez, President of the California Teachers Association:

David: As a classroom teacher, I’ve seen students of all ages and grade levels do better when families encourage kids at home. Setting a regular time for study in a quiet place is a good start. Kids focus better on their homework with fewer distractions from television or loud music. Open communication between families and teachers is also important. Back-to-school nights and parent-teacher conferences are good opportunities to meet your child’s teacher and find out how things work in the classroom. When families, teachers, and students work together as a team, everyone wins. For more ideas on how to help your child succeed, ask a teacher…or visit us at cta.org.

Kids: This message was brought to you by the California Teachers Association. Because every child deserves a chance to learn and no child succeeds alone.
