Announcer:

With three elections this year, voters know a lot is at stake for the future of California’s public schools.

Voice #1:

I’m looking for candidates who will put our children first and make sure public schools get the resources they need.

Voice #2:

We need to encourage the best people to become teachers.

Voice #3:

We need a federal education law that helps students rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

David Sanchez:

I’m David Sanchez, President of the California Teachers Association and a classroom teacher. From the White House, to the state legislature, to your local school board, the candidates you choose can help improve California public schools or set them behind. As you consider your vote, find out where candidates stand on making public education a priority. Providing adequate resources for smaller class sizes. Competitive pay to recruit and keep quality teachers. And changing the No Child Left Behind law that is failing our kids. For more information on what’s important for our public schools in this election, ask a teacher.
