The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network is a national education organization working to ensure safe schools for all students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. GLSEN sponsors several national events including No Name Calling Week, Day of Silence and ThinkB4YouSpeak, a website to fight anti-GLBT language. GLSEN offers workshops, tools, and materials to help educators develop GLBT-related trainings or education initiatives in their schools or local communities. GLSEN also sponsors Gay-Straight Alliances in addition to chapters for educators around the country.

Gay-Straight Alliance Network is a youth leadership organization that works to empower youth activists to end harassment and discrimination in schools based on sexual orientation and gender identity. A program of the Human Rights Campaign in partnership with the National Education Association, Welcoming Schools is a GLBT-inclusive approach to addressing family diversity, gender stereotyping and bullying and name-calling in K-5 learning environments. Welcoming Schools provides administrators, educators and parents/guardians with the resources necessary to create learning environments in which all learners are welcomed and respected.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is determined to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including a nationwide 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment. Suicide Prevention Hotline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline offers free, round-the-clock help at 1-800-273-TALK (800-273-8255) for anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Calls are routed to the nearest crisis center to you.
Human Rights Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization. Founded in 1980, the Human Rights Campaign advocates on behalf of LGBT Americans, mobilizes grassroots actions in diverse communities, works to elect fair-minded individuals to office and educates the public about GLBT issues. ACLU of Northern California

The ACLU of Northern California and the national ACLU Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Project fight discrimination in Northern California and across the nation through precedent-setting litigation, public-policy advocacy, and public education. In the past few years, the ACLU of Northern California reached a settlement with the Vallejo School District, designed to combat anti-gay harassment and discrimination at all the district’s schools.
