The Community College Association’s Advocate won top prize in the newsletter category in the annual State Education Editors (SEE) Award program sponsored by the National Education Association.
The juried competition award winners were announced at the 65th annual SEE Conference in Nashville, Tenn., in June. The program encompasses publications and websites from nearly all the state NEA affiliates. The judging panel included 10-private-sector professionals with expertise in writing, graphic design, photography, web design, social networking, advertising and communications. In all, the panel judged more than 275 entries.
In addition to the first-place award for the CCA Advocate, CTA’s Educator magazine also received awards and recognition for stories by Sherry Posnick-Goodwin on “Meet Generation Z” and “What is a Test Score” and its issue in October 2009 devoted to unionism, edited by staffer Dave Earl Carpenter.
