School Bond Bill Stalls in Senate

California schools will have to continue dealing with more than $21 billion in unmet school construction and maintenance needs, despite efforts by CTA and the education community to put a multi-billion dollar bond issue before voters this November. AB 2235, by Assembly Education Chair Joan Buchanan (D-Alamo), failed to get the necessary votes in the Senate.

AB 2235 would have given voters the chance to approve billions of dollars desperately needed by K-University public schools to build new classrooms and repair old ones bringing them up to par with modern-day technological needs.
