CTA-backed Bill to Streamline Dismissal to Protect Students and Profession Goes to Governor

The legislature has overwhelmingly approved CTA-supported AB 215, by Assembly Education Chair Joan Buchanan (D-Alamo) and principal coauthors including Assembly Member Olsen and Senators Block, Liu, Correa, Monning and Padilla. The bill is heading to the governor for his signature.

The bill would expedite the dismissal process in cases where "egregious misconduct" is alleged, including sexual misconduct and drug sales to minors.
