Supt. Torlakson Joins Association in Honoring Educators' Achievements on "Our Day"

Happy Day of the Teacher to you and thank you for all that you do for our students, our state, and our Association!

Today, Supt. of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson joined Guy Moore, President of the Mt. Diablo Education Association, students and administrators at an event in Concord celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the day set aside to honor our dedicated teachers.

For 2014, the theme of the Day of the Teacher celebration is “California Teachers: inspiring our students; strengthening our communities.”

In his remarks, the superintendent highlighted the positive impact that teachers have on our students and our community.

The Concord event was only one of many honoring the day.

And the celebration will continue through tomorrow.

On Thursday, the legislature will honor teachers by presenting a proclamation to CTA.
