As a member of CTA, you belong to the largest democratic, member-driven organization in the state – one where you have a say. Yet CTA’s strength begins at the local level in more than 1,100 chapters statewide. Those local chapters elect the almost-800 delegates of the State Council of Education, CTA’s top policymaking body. Meeting four times a year, State Council sets sponsored legislation in motion, makes recommendations in state and national elections, and elects the three officers and the 21-member board of directors who implement that policy and provide direction to nearly 500 CTA staff. But it all begins with you. Follow a flow chart of CTA’s organizational structure.
