This application is intented to reimburse SCTA members for the cost of test fees, live scan fees, and credentialing fees. The scholarship amount is to not exceed a total of one-hundred dollars ($100) per applicant and is applicable to fees incurred within the last two (2) SCTA membership years (2011-12 and 2012-13). Ten (10) grants will be awarded.

Undergraduate Students at a 4-year University

Two (2) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $600 each.

Applicant Requirements:

1. Be a member of Student CTA.

2. Submit a PowerPoint presentation (see application for additional information).

3. Verification of enrollment in an undergraduate program at a four-year college or university.

Application must be received by March 18, 2013.

Community College Students 

Two (2) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $200 each.

Applicant Requirements

1. Be a member of Student CTA.

2. Submit an essay of a minimum of 300 words. See application for additional information.

3. Verification of enrollment at a Community College.

Application must be received by March 18, 2013.

L. Gordon Bittle Memorial Scholarship for Student CTA (SCTA)

This program provides up to three scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each to members of Student CTA (SCTA) who have demonstrated high academic achievement.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This CTA scholarship is given in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to aid members of ethnic minorities in preparation of teaching related careers in public education. Applicant must be an "active" CTA member, a Student CTA member or a dependent of a CTA member.
