Governmental Relations

Governmental Relations represents the Association in all aspects of governmental and political relations. It designs, coordinates and implements advocacy programs to achieve the Association's political goals and objectives. It provides political information and assistance to members. It serves as liaison to government and private agencies.


DEPARTMENTAL PROGRAMS:

STATE POLITICAL RELATIONS - LEGISLATIVE LOBBY 1.0
To represent members, to influence state and federal legislation and actions by state and federal agencies.

STATE POLITICAL RELATIONS – MEMBERSHIP LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY PROGRAM 2.0
To improve programs that put members and staff in contact with elected and other public officials, with the goal of winning support for CTA and NEA policies and positions.

FEDERAL POLITICAL RELATIONS 3.0
To improve programs that put members and staff in contact with elected and other public officials, with the goal of winning support for CTA and NEA policies and positions.

LIAISON 4.0
The Liaison Committee consists of members appointed by the Board of Directors. The Committee monitors and reports on meetings of state government agencies and organizations in matters affecting education policy
and administration. The funds expended under this program are directed and approved by the CTA Board of Directors.

STATEWIDE CANDIDATE RECOMMENDATIONS 5.0
To provide funds to assist Service Center Council for interview costs associated with Statewide and State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) Candidate Recommendations.
