The NEA Representative Assembly is the largest democratic deliberative assembly in the world. California sends more than 1,000 delegates to the NEA RA each summer. During this annual meeting, CTA members help set policy and chart the direction of NEA business through participation on various committees, constituencies, caucuses, and leadership groups.
The NEA RA theme from the 2012 convention - "NEA: We Educate America" - was the cornerstone of what we're all about. Last summer's convention underscored NEA’s readiness to increase our advocacy on behalf of our students, our public schools and our outstanding members, and it emphasized our promise to continue that commitment and goal. NEA is focused on moving forward with action to achieve our vision of Great Public Schools for Every Student by 2020.
