Serving her first-term as CTA board member for District I in Los Angeles, Leslie Littman brings years of both teaching experience and association involvement to her new post.
Littman has taught social studies at Hart High School in the William S. Hart Union High School District for 20 years, where she received the NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011. Prior to that, she was a substitute teacher in the Montebello Unified School District for two years.
She served as president of the Hart District Teachers Association from 2007 to 2012 and was vice president from 1999 to 2007. Littman has also been a State Council delegate and a member of CTA’s ABC Committee. She has also served as CTA State Council Elections Chair and as chair of the Credentials and Professional Development Committee. Her term as CTA board member expires June 26, 2015.
A graduate of UCLA, where she also received her master’s degree in education, Littman became a teacher because it is a profession where each day is different, and each day she can try anew to help her students achieve their dreams.
She resides in Santa Clarita.
