My drawing shows some of the events that Cesar Chavez accomplished in his life during a series of peaceful demonstrations. The United Farm Workers Union led by Cesar Chavez marched in order to educate the public on the unfair practices against farm workers and to strike against the employers who knowingly gave unfair treatment to the farm workers. The UFW was able to create social justice for farm workers by the community working together and through education. This is important to me because through learning about leaders like Cesar Chavez, I know that the principles of non-violence can work to improve lives. I drive by the park in my town named after Cesar Chavez and know why our park is named after him and why there is a march every year in his honor.

Every child deserves a chance to learn and no child succeeds alone.
