I appreciate César Chávez because of all he has done for this country. I think what he did was brave because a lot of people just complain about things but Chavez chose to do something about it. He was sent to prison for doing what he did but he still chose to fight. Some of his actions affect me personally. Thanks to him I can eat as much fresh food as I want. He has inspired me to become a vegan. I drew this picture to honor him for all he has done for me.
César Chávez was an American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association. My drawing was inspired by some of his works. Chávez as a farmer motivated me to draw a farmer working on a farm because farmers provide healthy food for everybody. César Chávez was a vegan because he believed in animal rights and also for his health. That inspired me to draw fresh fruits to support his veganism. He also supported education for all people so I drew a chalkboard to symbolize that he fought for education. I drew a newspaper to show that Chávez was getting recognition in stopping police brutality. His public-relations approach to unionism and aggressive but nonviolent tactics made the farm workers’ struggle a moral cause with nationwide support. That is why I drew him protesting with others. I drew the American flag to represent that Chavez was an American. I drew a bunch of people of different colors holding hands
