I am a natural born citizen of the United States
I am an individual with feelings, rights and responsibilities
I am the son of my beloved parents
I am a devoted husband and brother
I am a father of four lovely children
I am somebody

I am a graduate of Morehouse College
I am a minister of the gospel
I am the founder and president of the Southern Christian Leadership Organization
I am Nobel Peace Prize winner
I am somebody

I am the leader of the Montgomery Bus Boycott
I am the leader of the historic march on Washington, DC in 1963
I am a prisoner in jail for the sake of human rights
I am a leader of the voters' rights in the South
I am a symbol of courage for depressed people
I am a man of courage, conviction and commitment
I am somebody

I am a man with a dream
I am a man with a concern for all people
I am a man who tried to feed the hungry
I am a man who enjoys the pleasures of life
I am somebody

I am a fighter for fair employment for all people
I am a lover of humanity
I am an advocator of the nonviolence movement
I am a drum major for peace, justice and righteousness
I am a believer in living and dying for a just cause

Some people believe in me and support my cause Some people do not My only hope is that both those who do and those who do not Will equally reap the fruits of my labor

It was these things that I lived and died for I am somebody I am Martin Luther King, Jr.
